Retail Design – Why Unused Displays Creates Lousy Impression For The Store
Shelving and how products are placed on shelving is an important consideration of retail design. You should place the best selling products and the products that have the best profit margins at eye level.
For some of the products, you will receive special incentives from the product companies when you placed their products in certain shelves. When there are different sizes of the same product, they should be lined up biggest to smallest left to right. This is because people naturally look from left to right.
By placing your larger products on the left you are more possible to have patrons take the bigger size, which makes you more sales. Unuse space should be reduced as it wastes valuable space in your business and does not look good.
The space between shelves should just be a little more than is required for hands to take the product of the shelves. You should always ensure that your shelves are well stocked as this creates an impression of abundance and you will also lose sales if your shelves are empty.
