Should You Go With Direct TV or Dish Network
The big dilemma confronting many individuals these days is picking from Dish Network or Direct TV. They are both satellite TV players and seem to have about the same programming and amount of network choices throughout the USA.
Consider a few differences with the two satellite providers, first lets review what Dish Network has to offer. With Dish Network customers will have your dish either placed on the side of your home or on a pole out in your yard, you can generally get your preference with this but ask the installer you tell them you want it on a pole you may have an additional fee. With Dish Network the major difference is that if you go up in the channel count that you receive you will have to get a larger dish with more LNB’s on it. If you select any foreign stations you will also have to have a larger dish with more LNB’s as well.
The cost for your Dish Network service will start out at about $40 a month depending on what plan you will select. If you have additional receivers in other rooms, a digital video recorder or have movie channels there will be an additional cost for those also. Normally you will get a better deal on your programming when you first sign up which I do not agree with, if you have someone that has been a faithful subscriber reward them with a better option or a lower monthly rate.
If you select Direct TV for your satellite TV company you will start with a unit that you will have the capability to receive as many stations as you want without needing to get a larger dish or having more LNB’s. The only time you will need to get a larger dish for your satellite service is if you add International networks. Direct TV is the same for their installation as they could bill you for installing a stick to put your dish on but you might be able to negotiate a deal with them if you ask. This pole has been known to cost about $200 and I regret to say but it is really not that costly to buy that pole and install it for $200.
The regular pricing for Direct TV will begin at about $30 just like Dish Network satellite and subscribers will be charged $5 for any extra boxess that you want in the house. The first receiver is part of the regular monthly price the only thing that will be extra is any DVR’s, more than one receiver and any extra channels that you may decide to subscribe too. To conclude, the customer service is what really helps make the best of a company and Direct TV has the highest cable or satellite rating.
