Cuboid syndrome is a common diagnosis that occurs on the outside of the foot. The tendons of the peroneus muscle in the lower-leg passes past the exterior of the ankle and underneath the cuboid bone because it passes towards the bottom with the feet. Once the muscle fires, the actual bone needs to be extremely steady. When the bone is not, the actual peroneus longus could shift the cuboid and stress the important joints around the lateral midfoot.
