If you wear contact lenses then there are some basic should be taken in order to prevent eye infections. Basic contact lens hygiene is easy to follow and will help to keep your eye healthy.

You must wash and dry your hands thoroughly, at any time before putting contacts into your eyes. You must lather and scrub your hands with warm water for 30 seconds.

Inserting your contacts while standing over a bathroom sink is never a good idea, because a dropped lens means it will be swimming in bacteria from the sink, or you may even lose it down the drain. Instead of working on a desk or a clean table with a mirror. Open the case that holds your contacts one side at a time to ensure you do not mix up your lenses by mistake.

The contact lens case should be replaced every three months. Contacts should be replaced as directed by your doctor. Not longer than recommended by your doctor, do not attempt to wear your contact lenses.
