Besides blind shades, there also are solid shades available. Solid shades can also roll or fold up to permit light in. However, after they are put down, there’s not too much you can do to regulate a certain amount of light in besides leaving it half down or such. These solid window shades include Holland shades ( which are roller shades ), woven-wood shades, pleated shades, Honeycomb shades and Roman shades. Some information about each is found below :

Holland shades, also known as roller shades, are generally made from a vinyl cover that will be rolled down to cover a window.

Woven wood blinds and shades is composed of wood, bamboo or another genuine-looking fabric woven together to construct a shade that looks solid together in one piece. They are usually heavier and can be rolled and tied up with ornamental strings when not in use.

Pleated shades are made of fabric that is’s folded into pleats so it can be pulled up to sit flat on the tops of a window when not in use.

Honeycomb shades, a. K. A cellular shades, are very like pleated shades. They , however , provide a type of insulation system achieved by joining two or more layers at the pleats to form a compartment that allows it to trap air.
Roman shades are shades that may be pulled up by having a section of the shade be folded behind another higher part of the shade. Roman shades are customarily made of cloth or wood pieces woven together,eg bamboo shades. Find wood blinds|faux wood blinds|wooden blinds
