The Importance of Eye Angle in Spotting Optics
Birding scopes are one of the most frequently used devices by bird watchers, along with maps. There are points when the object is too distant to be seen easily with the human eye alone. During these cases, Leica spotting scopes will be much more practical because they have stronger magnification that give a more sharp view of the distant birds. Ideally, Kowa spotting scopes should be mounted on tripods for steadiness.
The reasons why angled optics are used:
* Birding partners can share more easily.
* You don’t need a big tripod since it already has a higher eye rest.
* Perfect for birds that are in high trees or soaring high.
The reasons why straight scopes are favored:
* On level viewing scenarios, they offer less neck pain.
* Particles will not easily get into the eyepiece of your cheap Pentax spotting scopes.
* They are more convenient to handle if your subjects are below you.
* Newbies won’t have a difficult time aiming them.
