Drills For Soccer: Learn The Game Strategy
It’s a well known fact that in the game of soccer, a team’s defense is its basis and the drills for soccer should be designed in a way that they can rise above the defense of opponent team.
There are some coaches who only teach their players either defense or offence. Those soccer drills are apt that train all players on defense in case the ball is with the rival team and offense when the ball is in their custody.
Players need to run after the ball after they’ve lost its custody. Any player who fails to keep the ball with him should be the one to run after it first. He should now put a lot of pressure on the player currently having the ball because he’s next to the ball. As a result of this, the opponent team’s player having the ball’s possession will end up making a terrible pass or giving away the ball.
Your soccer practice must take care of the fact that all other team members should fall back in case of any one out of them is running after the rival having the ball. These players must make an attempt to stop him from getting into their goal area.
The most important area of the field is the center. Your drills for soccer must therefore force the opponent with the ball to move towards the touchline. It will result in putting a restriction on the passes he can make along with the number of directions that he can set out to.
The region where highest goals are scored is the arc of concentration which is also very risky. This arc is located at the front of the goal. It kicks off from the corner post of the goal right through to the corner of the goal box and then makes its way to the touchline. Hence, train the players with a lot of soccer exercises so they can work the ball outside this area as the opposition is most likely to score a goal here.
When it comes to protecting, maintaining a balance is crucial to success. Here, the players staying close to the ball play tight. This means that they stay as close to the ball as possible. Players who are farther from the ball play lose. This implies that these players play at positions where they can cover maximum number of players than just one.
Your team will be in a position of control when they get the possession of the ball. For this, take away the ball from your opponent as efficiently and quickly as you can. A number of coaches commit an error of letting their players maneuver the ball. This suggests that the player maneuvers the ball away from the opponent with touching him.
If it so happens that they miss the ball here, they will be back on the ground and opposition would get the opportunity to pounce on your goal.
